Psychotherapy is an opportunity to discuss, discover, and understand aspects of one's self, and how one thinks and feels, with another person. The growth that can occur may allow for more internal freedom to experience oneself and the world in a more meaningful way. The process of learning from experience in psychotherapy is highly idiosyncratic. The therapeutic relationship can foster personal development through an understanding of the many aspects of the individual including, but certainly not limited to, the person's history, current circumstances, and the individual-in-relationship. In working with clients, my attention and interest is in understanding how to help gain greater internal resources from which to draw in their daily lives.
A working relationship that fosters growth can take time to develop and the partnership needs to be appropriate to your goals. An in-person consultation is often the best way to discover whether we may be a good fit. During the initial consultation we will also have a chance to discuss the parameters of psychotherapy, my fee, and how to move forward. If we determine that our working together is not the best fit, I can also provide appropriate referrals.
If you would like to discuss meeting with me, please feel free to call me anytime and I will return your call as soon as possible.
